Prevent Cheesecake Cracks

It’s always disappointing when your newly-baked cheesecake cracks. This happened to me last weekend when I made our Pumpkin Cheesecake. Instead of starting over, I hid the small crack by spreading sweetened Gingerbread-spiced Greek yogurt and finely diced Crystallized Ginger overtop. Everyone loved it; but, in my endless pursuit of better home chefing, I asked Chef Cheryl (a trained professional baker) for some crack-prevention tips, and I have a few of my own to share. Pantry Pistou Soup

 

I’ve been working on the computer all afternoon. It’s past 6 pm. Although I had tomorrow’s supper planned – a Beef Merlot marinating in the fridge – there’s nothing in the works for tonight, and I was hoping to avoid a trip to the grocery store. Home Team Lunch 101

 

Many of our Home Team Member’s kids are back at school, so we shared in the excitement (or frenzy?) by having a Back-to-School-themed paper bag lunch. Simple Teriyaki Chicken

 

I made this simple, delicious teriyaki chicken for a friend the other day with a few staples I found in my pantry: soy sauce, honey, tomato paste, and Epicure’s Teriyaki Seasoning. It was just too easy and delicious not to share – simply add chicken and voilà, a beautiful meal is born! Read more
